Student and Parent Responsibilities

The Studio+ is committed to providing our community the opportunity to experience the world of fine arts through dance. Dance is a discipline. It teaches core character values necessary to be successful in life: self-discipline, self-esteem, respect, integrity, commitment, honesty, timeliness, strong work ethic, patience, flexibility - and love. The Studio+ maintains high expectations and strong standards that enable children to succeed and feel good about themselves. The Studio+ is dedicated to providing a professional, safe, and supportive environment that encourages children to develop to their fullest potential.

ATTENDANCE is mandatory. If absence is unavoidable, please notify the studio in advance. In order to participate in an Advanced level class, the student must have at least 80% attendance. They may make up in another class if necessary to acheive the attendance requirement, however, during recital rehearsal after December, the attendance requirement must be met through their regular scheduled class.

Dress Code required.

Leotard - color appropriate leotard as designated by age group.

Tights - fresh, clean tights, without runs or tears.

Shoes - class appropriate dance shoes.

Hair - must be worn in a bun for ballet. Hair must be secured off the neck and face for all other classes. We do not provide hair supplies, please come prepared.

Dance pants - if desired, for jazz, long or capri dance pants may be worn. For tap, only capri dance pants may be worn. For uniformity, only dance pants purchased through the studio are permitted.

Ballet skirts - are NOT permitted.

Cover-ups - must be worn to and from the studio.

Dance shoes - are not to be worn outside the dance studio.

CLASS AND STUDIO RULES

Be on time - of late, students must not enter class while a combination or instruction is in process.

Be respectful - disruption of classes will not be tolerated.

Gum & jewelry - are not permitted in class.

Food & Drink - are not permitted in studio.

PARENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE DANCEROOM. PLEASE DO NOT INTERRUPT CLASSES IN SESSION. DISCIPLINE WILL BE HANDLED BY CLASS TEACHER. IF THERE IS AN ISSUE THE PARENT WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS, PLEASE DO NOT HAVE DISCUSSION IN FRONT OF THE OTHER PARENTS. WE WILL BE HAPPY TO DISCUSS ANY CONCERNS YOU HAVE IN PRIVATE.

CLASS PLACEMENT - Students are carefully placed according to mastery of curriculum.

TUITION - Due on or before the 10th of the month, unless special arrangements have been made. Accounts delinquent beyond 30 days may result in student suspension until the account is current.

REFUNDS - No refunds are offered beyond 10 days following registration.

PERFORMANCE is the most exciting time of year for the students! RECITAL AND REHEARSALS ARE MANDATORY! With your help, it can be both a successful and unforgetable experience.
